The West Coast of South Africa is famous for its natural wild flowers during late winter / spring. Tourists travel from all over to witness these totally unique phenomena. The vista is spectacular as one stands in the middle of a carpet of blazing colour - Unseen in the rest of the world. 

The Wild flower tours come in one 5 day package. We keep in constant contact with the various regions to ensure that you see the very best display at the time of the tour. Our tour guides are all SATOUR registered. We will stop en route and visit as many flowers as is possible. You will travel in luxury air-conditioned Microbuses.

Itinerary

(Day 1)

Depart Knysna 8 am via N2, Swellendam, Wellington, Darling to Ysterfontein for overnight  overlooking the beautiful Romantic Atlantic.

(Day 2)

Depart Langebaan with its West Coast National Park situated around Langebaan lagoon and the famous Postberg Reserve.

The well known Postberg 1838, section of the West Coast National Park, not just for its Amazing floral wealth but also for its wide variety of birdlife, tortoise and antelope. We will be taking a short walk to the bird hide and at the several lookout points.

From the tranquil Langebaan Lagoon, up past Club Mykonos past Saldanha in the distance with its deep sea Iron Ore Warf and Saldanha Steel Corporation, Veldrift; Piketberg; Citrusdal to Clanwilliam. Home of Rooibos Tea South Africa.

Visit the beautiful Ramskop Flower Reserve overlooking the Clanwilliam Dam.

(Day 3)

Then we leave via Knersvlaktes for Van Rhynsdorp, then up into Namaqualand to Niewoudtsville with diverse landscape, dramatic granite outcrops, and spectacular flowers. Niewoudtsville, high on the plateau of the Bokkeveld Mountains. The yellow Bulbinellas in town is awesome.

 

We head straight out to the famous Padstal wild flower reserve. Here we hope to see the most spectacular spreads of flowers imaginable. Lunch is in between the flowers.

Evening we return to Niewoudtsville.

(Day 4)

Depart after breakfast we head North on Loeriesfontein Road to the Quiver Tree forest a valley forgotten in time. This route offers the most amazing Beetle Daisy display I have ever seen.

We do a part of the circle route to see the best displays. Picnic in among the flowers for lunch, then of to the Waterfall

 

Depart down the Van Ryns Pass to the famous Knersvlakte dwarfed by the enchanting Gifberg.

 

We visit the Succulent Show in Town and set sail down the N7 to Clanwilliam to see the marvellous Clanwilliam Flower Festival.

Overnight Piekenierskloof DBB

Day 5)

After breakfast we leave for Knysna via Piketnerg, Malmesbury, Wellington, taste the famous Bo Vlei Wines and wind thru the Bainskloof Pass to Worcester to Knysna.
