The Ski Resorts of Croatia

Mount Sljeme just outside Zagreb is the most conveniently located ski resort. \

Located on the northern slopes of Medvednica mountain, one of Croatia's nature parks, Sljeme offers four ski runs, two ski-lifts and a triple chair lift.

The runs offer skiing at nearly all levels: the White Run, Red Run, Green Run, Blue Run and Tree Run.

Usually there's snow for about three months a year and the resort is easy to reach by tram and bus from Zagreb centre.

Bjelolasica - Croatian Olympic Center Karlovac and easily reachable by car, bus or train from Zagreb.

It's Croatia's largest ski resort and also offers snow boarding, cross-country skiing and ski lessons.

The Croatian ski resort of Bjelolasica has direct access to 9 individual pistes, served by 6 ski lifts.

The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 6 Ski Lifts of Bjelolasica are able to uplift 5,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There is skiing to suit a range of abilities.

A large sports hall, fitness club and sauna are located in the central pavilion of the Bjelolasica Hotel Complex.

Outdoor facilities include football playground, running track, multipurpose playground for basketball, volleyball and handball, tennis courts, bowling court, mini-golf court and other smaller courts.

The complex reopened in 1998, the mile long (1.6km) Vrelo black is one of the region's toughest runs.

Platak - 26 km northeast of Rijeka which has seven ski runs and 10km of cross-country trails plus there's usually snow on the slopes until May.

The Croatian capitol Zagreb has skiing terrains only twenty minutes away from the city center. The ski slopes of the Medvednica mountain hosted the first steps towards the world skiing fame for the best Croatian skiers, Janica and Ivica Kostelic.

The ski slopes and ski lifts are situated on the northern slopes of Medvednica, beginning at the Sljeme peak and using the varied configuration of the terrain, thus providing slopes of different levels of difficulties. The total slope length is about 4045meters, with 2 ski lifts (Bijeli and Zeleni Slope), as well as a three-seat ski lift on the Crveni Slope with a total capacity of 3300 skiers per hour. Crveni, Bijeli and Zeleni Slopes are equipped with a snowmaking facility; also, Crveni slope and Bijeli slope are equipped with night illumination systems.

Every skiing season there are a number of skiing competitions held on the ski slopes of Sljeme, among which the most famous and the most prestigious is the FIS World Ski Cup competition

Hotel Tomislavov dom is located in the close vicinity of Zagreb, at 1000 meters above sea level, surrounded by a hundred-year-old forest and only 20 minutes away from the heart of the city.

Located in the nature park Medvednica, "Tomislavac" is an ideal destination for an active holiday, relaxing in extra facilities, but also business meetings. There are 42 rooms in the hotel, including one adapted for people with special needs. Each room has a shower and a toilet, TV/SAT, mini bar, a hair dryer and Internet connection. The rooms are decorated according to the highest hotel and esthetic standards.

Apart from comfortable accommodation services, the hotel offers an extra facilities like fitness, sauna, jacuzzi and the swimming pool with an option of swimming against the water current.
