Day 8:

Zulu Kingdom /coastal road to Durban / Shaka Marine World.

Depart Transkei via Port Edward, Kokstad to Umtata capital of the Transkei. We are in the rural heartland of the Xhosa Nation, a region where the 21st Century and yesterday have not met.

Ciskei to East London on the Buffalo River /Grahams town in Frontier Country /Sunshine Coast via Jeffry Bay and Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. We do a city tour of PE

Tsitsikamma via Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley, thick green indigenous forests with its Yellowwood and giants and tree ferns. through the passes of Bobbejaans and Blou Krans passes with the highest 216 meter Bungi jump in the world. Tsitsikamma National Park hanging on the rocky coastline with forests and sea.

Knysna jewel of the Garden Route /sundowners cruise on the Lagoon /African arts and crafts.

George /Outeniqua Pass / Little Karoo / Meirings Poort where we stop in the gorge for a refreshing walk with 400m mountains towering above us on either side. We pass through De Rust with its interesting mix of house styles from all influences.

Oudtshoorn, centre of the Ostrich Kingdom / Ostrich Show Farm /see, feel, touch, sit on and ride one/ Cheetah farm / Cango Caves / mysterious Swart Berg Mountains .

Peninsula tour /Atlantic Seaboard /Sea point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Bakoven, / Fish Market in Hout Bay /Seal Colony by ocean going vessel / SimonsTown / Jack-ass Penguins /False Bay on to Cape Point National Park.

 

funicular to the top of the look out point, hundreds of feet above the pounding surf and the place where the mighty Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet /relaxing cruise on a sailing ship on Table Bay experiencing the African Sunset at its best with enough Champagne to swim in.
