You will arrive a stranger and leave a friend”
In Africa, south of the equator lies the beautiful 18,000 hectare farm - Okatare, which means “this is the place”. Here you can enjoy the unique experience of an authentic hunt in true harmony with nature.

Okatare is situated in the north-west of Namibia in the region of Damaraland, 480km north-west of the capital city Windhoek and a mere 140 km away from the world-renowned Etosha National Park.
The breath-taking landscape and extraordinary beauty of this region never fails to inspire and enchant both local and foreign visitors. Namibia’s healthy dry climate, incredible variety of flora and fauna and ever-changing scenery make for ideal travel destination. In the midst of this untouched haven – Okatare farm is waiting to welcome you. We would like to share our passion for hunting, but also to offer our guests an opportunity to experience the original hunting ways.

Accommodation in Okatare encompasses comfortable, fully furnished rooms or bungalows, each with an en-suite bathroom. All rooms have hot water and daily cleaning and laundry services are available. Our big colonial style farm-house is set in the beautiful rocky landscape, surrounded by an indigenous garden. The traditional thatch Lapa overlooking a sparkling pool offers the perfect place to relax during the day or enjoy a meal in the evening. Each room’s veranda offers excellent game viewing opportunities with abundance of Kudus, Springbok and Blessbok.
Your host Phillip Müller has more than 15 years of hunting experience and will take care of all your hunting requirements. Brigitta Müller will ensure your stay at Okatare is as comfortable and luxurious as possible, delighting visitors with her imaginative rich cuisine.
A day at Okatare starts with an early cup of coffee and a light meal. Our team will then accompany you either on foot or by vehicle to the chosen hunting area for the day. A large variety of animals constantly move through the bio-diverse hunting areas and first task of the day is surveillance to establish the type and numbers of game present. Our relatively open terrain and many small hills make for ideal watching points. Depending on the success of the hunt, lunch may be served in the bush or back at the lodge, as the game rests during the hot midday hours. It is a saying on Okatare that: “after eating together, some of us will take a rest – but others will be sharpening their knives, fat warthogs are waiting!” After a cup of coffee you will head back into the hunting grounds, and stay in the bush until dusk. To crown your day of African hunting adventure, you can enjoy the spoils of the day grilled or roasted to your taste accompanied by a few glasses of excellent wine.
We look forward to welcoming you!
