Poverty kills children. Hunger kills children. HIV/AIDS kills children. Malaria kills children and WAR KILLS CHILDREN. Children are the "future". Children are the "Hope". Children are the "meaning". Help Save the children. Help Save the future. Help give hope and help give meaning to life.

Mortality -A child dies every three seconds from AIDS and extreme poverty, often before their fifth birthday.

The Child Mortality rate is 65% higher in the slum communities. Poor diets, weakened immune systems and unclean living conditions are to blame for the unnecessary deaths of too many African Children.

Water - More than one million people do not have access to clean water. (More......)

AIDS - African Children live at ground zero for the worst pandemic of modern times. HIV/AIDS is infecting thousands of children every day; still more are left alone when their parents succumb to this devastating disease.

MISSION - ARF is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating suffering, reducing the burden of disease and poverty, educating, enlighten the peoples of Africa.

To that end, the organization seeks to provide education, health care and relief assistance to people and communities living in South Africa.

Poverty is when you hide your face and wish nobody could see you just because you feel less than a human being.

Unemployment - About a quarter of the population is unemployed and lives on less than US $1.25 a day.

Population  -  2009 estimate 49,320,000

Aids - At the end of 2009, there were approximately 6.7 million people living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa, and almost 1,300 AIDS deaths occurring every day. Statistics show that almost one to five adults are infected and the country is heading for a Aids Orphan Crisis of unimaginable proportions.

Literacy - Nearly five million people in South Africa are totally illiterate, Education Minister Naledi Pandor said on Monday.

Another 4,9 million South Africans were functionally illiterate - people who had dropped out of school before Grade Seven.

Homeless - 40 to 70% of the African Population lives in slums. These children live in the worst imaginable conditions - in overcrowded shacks with dirt floors and no running water or electricity. They play in alleyways covered with sewage and trash. Their parents are often too poor or too ill to keep them fed.

Crime - Prison population total at end 2009 was 162,053 at 30.9.2009 (national prison administration)

Fact file:
1.The future of South Africa lies in the education of their children
2. With parents that are illiterate young black SA children has absolutely no backing
3. With the new black ANC Government since 1994 in place very little has come of the many promises made

This is where the African Relief Foundation comes in.

We identify and quantify problem areas and seek solutions with a close cohesion between all communities and tribes
